Position Opportunity: Part-Time Administrative Coordinator & Bookkeeper

We are hiring for a part time position as Administrative Support and Bookkeeping for Davenport Perth Community Ministry (DPCM).

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Giving administrative support to the Community Minister, the DPCM Steering Committee, and responding to its community members.

  • Typing correspondence, minutes, reports, and developing flyers for event promotion

  • Creating and maintaining office organization systems: paper and electronic files

  • In-person reception of visitors and telephone calls; referral to community resources

  • Maintenance of office machines, including purchase of office supplies

  • Work with Community Minister on bookkeeping: bank deposits, petty cash, processing of invoices, preparation of cheques for signature, bank reconciliation, printing reports

  • Updating website and social media

  • Assists with year-end audit support

  • Other duties as assigned

Join the Davenport Perth Community Ministry Steering Committee

This volunteer position will work in an advisory capacity for the work of DPCM. Steering Committee members work together to oversee the strategic direction of DPCM and to contribute to projects that support the organization. Steering Committee members bring with them experience in a variety of areas including community engagement and advocacy, fundraising, financial management, human resources, administration, and other specialized skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Bi-Monthly meetings

  • Quarterly review of financial statements

  • Collaborate with DPCM staff on grant writing, special projects, and general

  • improvement of operational workflows

  • Hiring staff (as needed)

  • Contributing to DPCM Steering Committee development

Meetings:

  • The DPCM Steering Committee will meet on the 4th Tuesday of every other month and on the call of the Chair if necessary.

  • Meetings are sometimes on Zoom and sometimes in person at 1900 Davenport Road

  • Meetings are bi-monthly and about 2 hours long

  • There are meals provided for in person meetings

  • Metro tickets will be provided to travel to and from meeting

  • On request daycare can be provided to in person meetings
